From Pandemic to Pure Goodness

 Meet the CEO / Founder, Leela Boodram-Spriggs, of Leela’s Pure Goodness. Leela is the not only a successful Entreprenuer, she is a dedicated wife, devoted mother of a set of adorable twins, actress, model, mentor, philanthropist and a Former Mrs. Trinidad and Tibego (2000). Leela’s Pure Goodness was started in April 2020. Leela  began baking keto treats during her weight loss journey after many failed attempts at different diets. She decided to commit to keto but realized that sweets were going to be her problem being on this diet. She started baking and sharing with friends and family. Soon that quickly transitioned to taking orders from other keto dieters that she met on a keto dieters platform. At that time she was just testing the market to see how customers liked the products. Soon she would look forward to their reviews after trying her delicious treats.

After awhile Leela decided to try vending at a farmers market. This was short lived due to her nervousness of the pandemic so she decided to start talking to stores to see if there was any interest in her delicious gourmet treats being sold in local stores. She recalls vividly when she got her first ‘YES’ at JR’s bakery located inside of the Dutch farmers market located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. At this point, she was baking keto, sugar-free,
gluten free, low calorie mini cakes, cookies and brownies as well as vegan cookies. Soon thereafter, the Laurel Maryland location quickly added her scrumptious products at Stolfus Bakery located inside the Laurel Dutch
farmers market.

Currently, her delicious treats can be found throughout Maryland at Golds Gyms in Crofton, Bowie, Ritchie Station, Glen Bernie, Marley Station, Davids Natural Market in Gambrills and Brown’s Market in District Heights Maryland.

Since then Leela has added her spectacular and delicious variety of other products such as: St Lucia Sea moss. Remembering her roots growing up in Trinidad and Tibego Leela had a direct connection to become one with her heritage and share her gift once again with the world. Currently her sea moss variations are sold as a gel, powder and dried sea moss available in 3 varieties (gold, purple and green). She also makes sea moss infused skin care products.

Her testimony is during the Covid-19 pandemic she has been able to go from Pandemic to PURE GOODNESS. She would later resign from her position as a background investigator with OPM in April 2021 to fully operate her company Leela’s Pure Goodness full-time and has not looked back ever since. So as you can see….What started out as a part-time hobby has grown into a very successful business that has afforded her the opportunity to do what she loves all while helping other people along the way. Especially, helping those that share her struggle in weight loss. Never did she ever dream that a girl that came to the US as a teenager with nothing but a dream would now own and operate a business that is such a huge asset to her community. She is currently in the process of building out a 3,000 Sq ft. Space and warehouse which is also the new home of Leela’s Pure Goodness Commercial kitchen located in Capital Heights, Maryland. She can’t wait to see where this journey leads her.
